The hut, set between Val Contrin Valley and Val San Nicolò Valley opposite Marmolada, provides 14 beds and is opened at least from 20 June to 20 September.

To arrive: from Alba di Canazei: path n. 602 and 608, hiking up Val Contrin Valley (3 h. 15 min.). From Val San Nicolò Valley (from the parking-lot in Mezzaselva village), path n. 608 (2 hours). Recommended routes: “Lino Pederiva” path is a panoramic path — some cords to be used for the most exposed stretches — which runs from San Nicolò Pass along the peaks ridge on the orographic side on the right of Val San Nicolò Valley until Sella Brunèch over Ciampàc basin, where you can hike further on to Sass d’Adam and Buffaure Hut (path n. 613 and 613b, 5 hours). On Col Ombert (2670 m), a nearby iron route, which is short but quite exacting (you need helmet, harness, belay device, cords), runs through communication trenches and military stationing points (1 hour). It would be interesting for the hiker who is coming up from Val San Nicolò Valley or from Buffaure Hut, to complete Colàc tour by going down to Contrin Hut — so to Alba di Canazei — where he will find the cableway leaving for Ciampàc, or buses to come back to Pera di Fassa.
